Servicing help!

Featured Replies

Hello boys and girls, I’m new to owning a Skoda, and I’ve just purchased a 2019 Octavia Vrs, 2ltd tdi.

Im old school with servicing and love a good service history, and found out today that it’s mainly digital history (if carried out at main dealer). Its just had an interim service at 45k miles (service light flagged up), and was curious as to when its due a full service, dsg oil change etc. Also, would the car flag up letting me know its due a full service?

Apologies for sounding like such a novice.. I just like to keep on top of servicing to keep her running sweet!

Thanks

Rob

Well, it depends on the servicing schedule.

If you go to the MIB / car radio, and go to Car/Vehicle and go to Settings, you will find Service Information in there. It will tell you when the car is scheduled it's next service. I would recommend oil/filter every 10k miles or 12 months and a major service every 20k miles.

As it's 5 years old, it's due a coolant change (and make sure you remove the silicone bag of death out of the header tank), check it's had an HVAC service too and I think you are probably due a brake fluid change too at 5 years.

Welcome.

?

In what for was the message about a FULL Service required, and not just Inspection or Oil Service?    The INSPECTION does not exist other than part of Servicing.  Oil Changes and servicing and maintenance should be done to suit usage and the Owner, have them set at services what you want as far as Fixed or Variable.  9,400 miles / 372 days or 24 months /18,000-20,000miles.

The interim service was the Annual / Fixed Service between Major Services and the term used pre 2020 by Skoda.  No idea what a Full Service is.

(Before that was Minor & Major Servicing.)

If it is a Dq381 7 speed wet clutch DSG the Service Schedule for the oil change is at 80,000miles. i would not leave it that long.

& get oil and filter changed.

All pricing is out of date, and chart is a bit general and was vehicles 3-10 years old at participating dealers & is about Annual / Fixed Servicing and not Variable.

Not accurate.
