Identifying an engine issue - EPC / Grumbly engine / cut out after idling (280)

Hoping that you can help me identify an issue with my 2016 280. We've had two incidents recently that are a bit weird with the engine:

  1. Engine went lumpy and threw up EPC code after very stop start heavy traffic when my wife was driving
  2. Engine went lumpy then cut out (on another day) whilst stopped (after queuing for passport control)

 

Any ideas what this could be? Seems to be sporadic so far.

 

Car has done 60,000 miles and has had the spark plugs changed in the last year (and is serviced at an independent every year).

I think as a starting point you would need to have the car scanned for fault codes. Presumably when you say "threw up an EPC code" you mean the light came on for a while, but is now off?

Took the car to my local garage this week, they've confirmed that it's the coolant valve for the engine rather than gearbox (apparently there are two), part will be replaced next week once it comes into stock. Hopefully it will fix the error code
