Small aluminum tabs in trunk, attached to green and white cables/strings

Featured Replies

Greetings good people, I recently came in to possession of a Karoq with an electric boot. Yesterday when opening that same boot, I noticed a small green cable/string with an aluminum square piece attached at the end, poking out of a small cutout in the plastic lip of the trunk. When looking inside it with a flashlight, I noticed identically looking but but white one.

My current guess is that these maybe antennas for something, but unsure why they would be there and decided to ask. Don't really enjoy the thought these may be aftermarket tracking bits I am not aware of.

Do you know what these are?

I searched but found none. In any case, moisture sensors?!? Sure add odd ones. Still having them installed in multiple vehicles tells me that they are factory-installed and nothing to worry about. Should shove them better in the trim.
