Fueling? Issue

Recommended Posts

Hi all, fuel was running low(showing 20 miles) went to fuel up. Put 40quids worth diesel in.

Car started but when I pulled away it was as if it was starved of fuel very lumpy and revs would nt settle.

Managed to coax car down the road. Now it's not wanting to start. I bled the injectors and one of them definately took a while to bleed but still not starting.

Have I missed something when bleeding or anything else to look at?

Had AA out all he did was say yeah it's a fuel issue and it needs go garage. He really wasn't interested in getting any tools out. Forgot to add no error codes showing and car serviced about 2000 miles ago.

It might be worth asking around in case its a batch of contaminated fuel...?

Seems odd how after re-fuelling you suddenly have an issue.

Its not unknown for fuel stations to have contaminated fuels with water, or fuels getting mixed up at tanker delivery stage.

Also, if run very low you could have pulled dirt/air into the system, maybe needing filters changed and purged of air...?

Dozens or hundreds of other drivers will have used the same fuel from the same tank at the pumps.

So if any question on fuel ask the Filling Station Manager if their tanks were mis-fuelled or others are having issues.

Surely they could not lie because of just how easily they can be found out.  Social Media, Local Radio, Press.

The water and diesel does not mix.

Think where the water is in the Filling stations tank if there is H20 and their systems & filters & out take.
