Estate Parcel Shelf

Featured Replies

that's something I keep meaning to ask.

My parcel shelf feels "sluggish" to retract .

Is this normal or is there a way of lubing it?

It does fully retract  in the normal 2 steps but just feels "slow"

I assume it’s normal inasmuch as mine has been sluggish from new.

A spray of silicone lubricant will work wonders to make it slide easier.

Mine seems to react differently in differing temps, like most of us, quicker when warmer.

I guess it's just one of those things then :)

Along the slot on either side where the flat tab slides when the blind retracts.

Hi,

I had assumed you would rather lubricate the inner spring / stow mechanism to avoid spots on clothes or whatever you put in the boot, as well as dust 'stuck' with silicone spray on the slots

But maybe it's too complicated to spray the inner mechanism? I don't know, I've never glanced at this part.
