Glow plug lamp and limp mode

Featured Replies

I hope someone can shed some light on a problem I’ve encountered on my 2015 Octavia VRS . Yesterday when I went to drive it as I accelerated fairly hard.the glow plug lamp came on and I lost power   I pulled over and restarted the engine and glow plug lamp went out and power resumed, but some thing happened when I accelerated hard again . This happened every time I drove it strange thing is when engine reaches normal temperature it doesn’t seem to happen. Someone said it might be boost pressure sensor. I would really appreciate if any of you had similar problem and what was the solution.  Thanks for any help.

Assuming the vehicle is a TDI 2.0 with 185bhp. Glow plugs do fail (over 100k miles) usually and ideally they should all be replaced.

We won't honestly know until you get your vehicle code scanned and get us the fault codes.

Found out the glow plug was not the problem but a faulty oil pressure switch .

Ive got the same thing happening to my octavia. How did you find out it was a faulty oil pressure switch, did you do a diagnostic check?
