Rear camera washer connections

Featured Replies

Bit of an ask , but here goes! I'm looking for someone with an early mk4, hatch that has the rear camera with washer factory fitted. I'm trying to find the part number for the 't' piece that connects the washer water hose to the camera. TPS won't help cos my VIN doesn't have the camera on it, but someone who had that as standard would be able to get a part number! I had an oem camera fitted today that's got the pipe and a three way connector on it, but there's no way to connect it to my washer pipe 😱🤔

Mine is an early mk4 with camera and wash.. although everytime i go into settings and try to use the wash it says ‘not available’ or something similar.

where do i go to check my vin for the part required?

Have you got the rear wash wipe? If so the wash button will never work.

Yeah. It’s an Estate and that bit works fine.. but i would have thought if you had the nozzle AND the on screen button to use it, it should work… why is that not the case? Do you know?

Apparently there's only an independent washer jet for the camera if you don't have the rear wash wipe. Did you have the camera retro fitted, or was it a factory fitted option?

Factory.. although i’ve not had the car quite from new so dont know if its ever worked but it IS listed in its specs.

strange that you cant use it if you have rear wash wipe though.

Yeah that is odd, I had a camera retro fitted and they coded the button in, but it never worked (it was also not a oem camera) when I had the correct camera fitted I coded the button out as it was pointless!
