Hello people just some advice needed.. I've been told by my mechanic that I need a new engine as the bottom end has gone. What would be the best options available? My car is a 2010 CAVE engined Vrs.. 

Is it worth getting another engine or is there an alternative engine I can buy and replace?

I have been told that the 1.8 225 BAM engine can fit into the fabia.. is that possible?

What do you mean "gone", are the big ends knocking, has it seized or is it smoking like a chimney?

 

 

Every time you put into drive the car starts to shake and the ignition cuts off..

 

Get a second opinion, preferably from an independent VW specialist, your mechanic may be barking up the wrong tree.

Previous errors were bringing up cylinder misfires.. changed the coil packs and the plugs still no change.. engine management light and EPC light is on.. was drinking a lot of oil before this happened.

Sounds really rattley when pressing the accelerator 

I'd want compression readings before making any decisions. Post back with numbers for all four cylinders.
