electrical connectors corroded by leaky coolant

Featured Replies

My 2017 Kodiak 1.4 has needed a few new parts. One was the secondary water pump. After fitting, the garage was getting some fault codes (not specified to me) and said they had found a few connectors wet. One or two had corroded contacts. New wiring is on theway to be fitted. I wondered if anyone had had this problem? The garage says it is rare in their experience.

Check the ECU plugs, if you really want to be scared search up coolant migration.

My 2018 1.4 TSI had a leaky water pump. Fixed under warranty a while ago and no word or sign of damaged electrical connectors.

Thanks for the replies. I have the car back now. It is running well and the garage assured me that they had checked as many connectors as they could get to - including at the water bottle,. So, fingers crossed for now.
