Child Seats - 3 across

Featured Replies

I've currently got 3 across in a Mk3 Octavia - 2 rear facing and 1 HBB

Thinking of switching to a Mk4 but when I measured between the centre buckles it's 25mm narrower, and the buckle to seat edge distance is the same - is the back seat really narrower in a wider car?

Has anyone successfully fitted in 3 child seats?

Doesn't really answer your question but there are isofix points on the front passenger seat in the mk4, so that may be an alternative.

I’ve got two child seats in the back of my Mk4 and I don’t think I’d get another one in there, the space in the middle is tight. That said one of the child seats is one of those bulky ones that spins round.

Not a very scientific answer, but just my opinion!

IMG_1559.HEICDid a very rough test fit today. They fit, just about.... it's definitely narrower than the Mk3

Disclaimer - the seats are not fitted correctly, they were only placed in the car to see if it could potentially work....

some people might say the best option (but not the cheapest) is Multimac

Not something I'd consider tbh as it only allows rear facing up to 13kg and 4 years old is the minimum recommended age for forward facing
