I bought a used Superb 3 recently (150CR L&K) and I'm doing bits and bobs to it. 

 

I am about to tackle the steering wheel replacement!

 

The factory fitted wheel is not heated nor does it have dsg paddles, the wheel I am looking to purchase is not heated but has the dsg paddles.

If I've read all the other threads from my google searches correctly I can straight swap the airbag and the paddles should work without vcds.

 

If one of you knowledgeable folk could confirm this that would be great.

I did this swap on my octavia and got no errors or anything.  Was all just plug and play.  As far as I can tell your experience will be the same.

Paddles will work no problem, Id also say you have the old style airbag which fits the alcantara steering wheel.
