My 2011 Skoda Roomster failed its MOT on the airbag light. 

 

Is there anyone local to Folkestone in Kent that has a VCDS that could turn it off just so I can get through the MOT? I'm going to fix whatever's wrong but my MOT runs out on Sunday.

NO!

 

You have to fix the airbag fault before the light can be cancelled. Also you at least should fail the MoT if the airbag light does not initially illuminate and then extinguish when the car is switched on.

Still worth finding a local VCDS/OBDeleven user...

 

The airbag fault can be cleared but if the fault still exists or happens again, it will illuminate the light again.

 

However, both of those code readers should give enough detail to figure out what caused the fault code which will help fix any future issues.

 

I'd suggest trying the list or map so you can PM someone local rather than hoping they see this thread
