Yet again!! On a cold engine, open the expansion tank and look for 2 metallic prongs descending into the coolant. Using a broad bladed straight screwdriver, crape the visible side of them 2 or 3 times. This should clear the false positive for a year or 3.

OK, start with the alternator control wires. The battery light not illuminating usually means that one or both of them is disconnected or broken.
