cambelts

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a 69plate 1.0ltr kamiq, does anybody know if skoda has scrapped the changing dates for the belts

Many thanks

Yes, interval was changed in July 2023

now estimated at 12-15 years and about 180,000 miles.

They have added inspection of belt for wear at main service, presumably should be advised if it looks like wearing and needs changing (although how well this will actually work in practice is anyone's guess).

Interesting as I had a fight with Skoda UK some years ago when I had my Yeti. In Uk (at that time the wanted to change at 3 years  and when I was working in Germany I asked in a dealers there and they were five years. Complained to Skoda ( in Briskoda somewhere) and they phoned me up to say factory guidelines were going to four years -  I told him that was rubbish as Germany five years. They changed to five not too long after. I wish I had seen that latest change as Karoq and Citigo were both done last year 🤯
