The drivers side door light, cockpit light are not working and the door open warning on my instrument console dont come on. I suspect a faulty microswitch. How do i get in to replace it please. I dont fancy drilling out all the rivets covering the inside of the door. Ive tried spraying WD40  electrical contact cleaner in to the door. Not the normal WD40 i have to say.

You need to check the wiring that goes from the car body to the door in that rubber hose it's most likely a broken wire common - ish well documented on here, check that first.

As post above says plus it is common to have driver's door controller fail, including mine. The lights you mentioned will not come if the door open icon does not come on as it thinks the door is still closed.
