Hi All

 

My 2010 `Columbus Satnav no longer has update DVDs available.  Anyone know if it is possible to burn an update DVD from one of the recent update SD cards?

It is possible to make DVDs from the files on an SD but it's very unlikely that the files will be compatible with such an old system.

If you want sat nave then a seperate stand alone system, or a new screen that you can link to your phone is likely your best option.

The map supplier has changed and the maps are in a different format, so the files on a recent SD card will not be suitable for your 2010 Columbus.

 

VAG have a policy of discontinuing map updates 5 years after the unit was last used in production, which is very frustrating.

A ridiculous policy IMO seeing as they have to supply spares for something like ten years after the last model of X has rolled off the production line.
