On the right hand side of the dashboard, run the cable up from the fuse box.

It's got a ciggy lighter socket on it can I just cut that off then I was assuming there might be something in it other than just a connector and a fuse

Yeah snip the ciggy lighter off. Crip a ring tonge to the earth and fix to the earthing stud to the right of the steering wheel (Visible when you drop the lower panel) and take a switched live from the fuse box. It is possible to utilise a spare fuseway on the fuse box and use a small fuse too.

The cable will then run neatly up the right and slide in behind the dash.

If you want to use the fuse in the fusebox idea you'll need some wires with the crimps on. I have some here.

It a physical store not the online Tesco Extra. If you are at that store you will find it at the very back corner by the TV's etc on the end of a stand. They have a little DVD case which you exchange for the talex lite.
