Hi all,

I'm looking for a bit of advice. I have a 2018 Octavia estate and as of last week the boot won't open. I've tried opening with both holding the button on the key and the button on the boot itself. No luck so far with them, though it does open with the emergency release, but with two dogs that's proving less than ideal.

 

I've read up on it and getting conflicting results on either changing the boot release mechanism itself or changing the button. So just looking for advice before I go shopping

If it won't open when using the button on the key then it's not using the button on the boot so it's most likely the lock.

Perfect, thanks for that Dave. I'll keep you updated on the fix. 

And did you fix it,due to i have similar problem! 😞 First was started sometimes open sometimes not so I was thinking 🤔 🤔 it's boot locking mechanism due to when I press button inside of car or on the key the door still not open...but when I give little bit push 🫷 it's open normal a d close normal...so maybe 🤔 have similar problem....

Yeah it was a faulty boot lock causing my issues. Ordered a replacement part through a main dealer and it was a 20 minute job to change it myself.

Nice job...well I changed my yesterday but not heping... looks like my looking actuator is f**k... I order new one so will see, hope this is problem
