Hey guys,

looking to see if anyone here has done a valve stem seal replacement on the 1.2htp.

ive recently found oil on the threads of one of my spark plugs. I still have compression in the cylinder so ive been able to rule out piston rings. A colleague mentioned he had done work on the same engines and believes it to be valve stem seals.

if anyone has anything information on doing these, whats the easiest way to do them, is there any tips or tricks to these either?

Years ago did an old Fiat. Fairly simple but the head was off for a gasket change. My local garage managed to change valve springs a few years ago by feeding 6mm rope through spark plug hole and then turning engine over slowly so the rope held the valves while they compressed them. Bit tricky but saved taking head off
