No connectivity unable to factory reset

Featured Replies

I wonder if someone can help with this. After a replacement of a boot panel due to a low impact crash, the app stopped syncing with the car. On the infotainment system, if I try to add a new user via ‘log in’ it says ‘connecting’ but times out after 5 mins. If I try to factory reset it says this can’t be done because can’t delete active user. I also cannot connect to the shop. So it seems like a connectivity problem (possibly the esim) but the SOS light is green. I’ve pulled all the fuses and done a long press of 10 seconds. Nothing fixes it. ŠKODA support are offering nothing.

As far as I know, the antennas for all the smart gizmos are embedded into the rear glass. Did you replace the entire boot door? Might be worth pulling it off and just double checking everything is connected properly.

They didn’t replace the entire boot door. Just the panel below the window and the bumper. But that is very useful info, thank you - i didn’t realise that was where the antenna was! It seems like too much of a coincidence now!

Took the car back to the bodyshop. They checked the connection to the antenna, which was fine, and did diagnostics which did not reveal an issue… but the problem remains. They are going to discuss with Skoda. I don’t feel terribly optimistic about it!

From the stories I've heard, I gather half the techs working in these dealerships don't actually know the ins & outs of these new platforms which results in these oddities.

Fingers crossed you can get this sorted!

Yes one definitely gets the impression that no one understands the tech! Thank you.
