1.8tsi vs 3.6v6 advice

Featured Replies

Seen an mk2 estate at Asda few days ago and it got me thinking, it’s actually bigger as a family car inside than the mk3, especially in the rear.

Given my partner wants something less performance oriented as it is, and it’s a stop gap car (4-5 years), I’m parking the 280/272 estate hunt and now looking at the previous gen.

Still an estate, and has to be petrol due to the circa 25 miles per week it’ll get driven. But which engine, as per title.

I like the idea of another big petrol v6, but feel it can get costly in maintenance as I’ll probably end up with a higher mileage car.

Also. Is the 1.8tsi torque-y enough to lug the car with a boot full?

Any advice, things to look out for etc would be very helpful from experienced owners.

Thanks.
