Hmm. Second day of ownership, and error messages have started...

Started the car up earlier, and got two errors - ""Error: Side Assist, exit warning system and Rear Traffic Alert" and "Proactive occupant protection system is restricted". Also get an "Error: exit warning system" on the instrument display when switching the car off. Given all the sensors in the bumpers a wipe, so no dirt etc. there.

Spoke to the supplying dealer who suggested leaving it until tomorrow to see if the errors reoccur. Anyone got anything to suggest in the meantime?

Possibly due to low battery voltage, especially if the car had been sat in the dealer's yard for months.

I'd advise taking the car for a long drive 30-40mins to give it a good charge.

The car was delivered from 200 miles away yesterday, so I think that probably counts as a long drive!

I see, in that case. Back to the dealer! Not even worth trying to diagnose issues on such a new (to-you) car purchased through a dealer. Just fire it back to them.

Already spoken to the dealer about this, will be speaking again tomorrow. Sounds as though I might be needing to pay my local dealer a visit for a software update...

OK, a follow-up to this...

Earlier I made the cable which runs from the rear-view mirror USB port to my dash-cam a bit tidier, and noticed that it was previously hanging slightly in front of the sensor on the reverse of the rear-view mirror (passenger side), but now it isn't. Coincidentally - or perhaps not - the side assist errors have now cleared. I can't imagine why that particular sensor - which as I understand it is solely for the auto-dimming mirror - would relate in any way to the side assist functionality... but....?
