Just been looking at swmbo's '04 plate Fabia Comfort and I can see the icon on the dash for the door open warning which I have on my Bora. Does anyone know if this should light up when one of the doors is open and the ignition is switch on?

Also, I've seen some posts refering to the rear wiper working when the front wipers are on and reverse gear is selected. Ours doesn't do that either.

Can these features be activated with Vagcom or are they only on later models?

dont know about your comfort model but my 04 VRS has both those features working

The rear wiper is a coding thru VAG-COM I think (seem to remember Ross saying it could be turned off if you didn't like it). In my Elegance, the door light came on if any of the doors or boot was opened - would imagine it should be the same on the Comfort........

i have a 2001 comfort and it has both these things

Just checked the manual and there should be a warning light for the tailgate too, although both that and the door ajar lamps are marked with asterisks meaning not fitted to all models. The rear wiper operation with reverse and front wipers seems as though it should be there anyway so I definiely think I need a trip to the dealers.

Ok then, been to the dealers and apparently the door ajar and tailgate open lamps only work on Elegance and VRS. I guess that the sensors are there, as are the lamps, so anyone know if these two can be activated either by the dealers ot VAG COM?

Oh and the rear wiper does work when reverse is selected but when I was checking to see if it was there I did it in the wrong order. Reverse first the front wipers = no rear wiper. Front wipers first then select reverse = rear wiper works. But I suppose the rest of you knew that already though!

I wonder if the door open indicators only work on the Elegance and vRS as the sensors are present for the alarm?

I wondered about that, but the sensors should just be the microswitches which are used for the interior light and boot light I think.
