1.6tdi injector coding apps

Hi all, my brother has a 2010 octavia 1.6TDI that has just suffered a failed injector. I am pretty handy with a spanner and I am confident I can replace it for him.

However, is there a way of coding the new injector to the car without forking out loads of cash on VCDS? Are there any less expensive apps that would do the job?

The other option I suppose is to pay someone local to do it.
