Hi All

i have a 2011 superb Estate with the VR6 engine. when iat idle, it fluctuates between 1000 to approx 1500rpm, gets up to the 1500 aange & then drops down to 1000, continues to do this constantly doesnt make any difference wheter hot or cold, in gear or in neutral. Any ideas where to start troubleshooting would be helpful please

fault code P0507/01287 displayed - idle control system - RPm higher than expected is displayed

I would suspect the throttle valve (and throttle body). A good clean of those might solve the issue.

But it can also be an air leak in any of the hoses of the inlet circuit. A smoke test will reveal the location of the leak.
