Hi, I've just purchased a Superb 1.9 TDI at 11 month's old with 7 k miles on it.

My questions are: -

1) Are there any warranty recall issues I should know about?

2) Are ther any common problems that I should look out for?

3) The service book states that new skoda's are fitted with the long life, (expensive) oil and so is on a variable service regime? Does the car still need an annual check up for anything else to maintain Skoda warranty?

4) Anyone have any idea how long it takes Skoda to reply back to change of ownership details?

5) Does everyone pay the

1)Ask you local dealer

2)Have a search about the site

3)You can choose your service schedule, 10k or 1 year (fixed) or Variable (around 20k or 2 years, your car will tell you).

4)Sorry no

5)I've only reg'd a new one so sorry dont know.

It was around 4 weeks from date of purchase before my wife's postcard came back from Skoda re change of ownership on her Fabia. Maybe they do Superbs faster:rofl:

Mine is due a metal plate to be fitted to the gearbox I have been told ....but it's "not urgent"

What is it for? Was it missing from new or did it fall off :o

Thanks Lummox, I was planning on visiting the local Skoda dealer for a touch-up paint pen as Halfords didn't stock Nightfire blue so I'll ask then.

I realised the car is on the variable schedule from new, so far as the oil/filter change goes but did not know if you still had to pay an annual obligatory visit for other serviceable items/checks.

Thanks for the welcome guys

just an update...normally done at the time of service....but they forgot

The metal plate is a cover that goes over a hole in the top of the bell housing. Same recall on 3B Passat aswell. IIRC is was something to do with cars that are stood for a time water/dirt can works its way down onto the clutch.
