Rear brake light bulbs

Featured Replies

My furby vrs seems to be blowing a lot of brake light bulbs (4 in 6 mth) 3 on the same side, none of the other bulbs have given any problems. Any ideas?

Replace both with good quality bulbs, not cheapy and cheerfulls from the car boot sale. That should do it.

Guessing you already know this but handling bulbs on the glass part with your fingers can make them fail sooner rather than later due to finger grease.

I have found that wiping any bulb with meths on a cloth before installing is a good tip.

Would recommend also Phillips Fast Reaction brake light bulbs also (

dont take this the wrong way as you may not be guilty of it but another good idea is not to sit with your foot on the brake pedal whilst stationary in queues or at red lights , as i said dont take it the wrong way , also you could check the contacts in the bulb holder for corrosion ,as a dirty earth at the bulb may cause premature bulb failure

Would recommend also Phillips Fast Reaction brake light bulbs also (

I've used Halfrauds own make which I assume are of good quality. Thought of replacing with LEDs but I think the bulb warning buzzer will come on every time I use the car.

I thought of that but then I'll need new bulbs for the headlights, plus new headlights, new bumper, new bonnet.......
