Rear Tailgate doing funny (NOY things

I'm sure that I can't be the only one with this problem but it is getting serious.

Sorry but I didn't realise that there was a time limit for editing.
So....Start again.

I was away last week, in the UK, with my car and had this issue. After the car being unused for at least 4 hours, i opened the tailgate to remove some stuff. I closed the lid and then tried to open it again with the rubber button on the back. It refused to open.
I tried to open it with the fob, click but no movement, I then tried the button on the driver's door...little click and slight wirr but lid stayed closed. I locked the car, then unlocked it and tried again....Nothing.
A friend suggested leaving aqll the windows open to let the car cool down. I did this and early evening tried it again. Success. For the following two days it was fine until it occurred again today.
I had put parcels in the back to take to the post office, but it refused to open when I got there.

I am Really worried as we transport our dog in the back, and also we have our daughter's two dobermans.

Please help.

I seem to remember someone posting similar, and a known issue with the lock mechanism,?

This works on our Karoq, maybe yours too. Also you can try holding down the boot unlock button on the remote control for at least ten seconds to do a reset.

Thank you.

I'll certainly give the reset thing a try.

Well I tried the reset but I still have the problem.
First thing in the morning it's ok, worked fine when my wife went shopping.
After lunch I had to collect our daughter's two dobermans from her house. Got home and the tailgate refused to open. Thankfully I was able to pull the rear seat down and get the dogs out though the side door.

Any more ideas. I am very nervous of taking it to our local dealer....for several reasons that I don't want to go into here!

In that case I think your next stop is a good independent auto electrician or independent VAG specialist.
