Garage button

Featured Replies

Good morning all

Has any of you integrated a remote control to open the garage door? Or do you know about a project that explains how to do it?

I'd like to have a proper button integrated in the car and maybe and emitter that takes power from the battery instead of using a battery.

Best regards

Hello, welcome to the forum.

You would need to integrate a voltage regulator into the supply circuit.

Wouldn't it be much simpler to just clip the RC unit onto the visor?

Yes, it is easier for sure.

I am just wondering if somebody has done so. I wanted to forget about batteries and using more accessible buttons.

For my garage controller I bought a cigarette socket button.

It fits into the cigarette 12v socket but it's powered by it's own battery.

It's obviously not as integrated as using a free button on the car but cost €10 and it's pretty inconspicuous and works well

There's a simple learning process with the controller and then it's good to go

Looks something like this so its nice & discrete.
The cover even closes over the top of it.

Could you post a link to the device? It looks interesting

It's the same as this one (but I paid much less from memory)

It's a HSZ1 BS device for Hormann garage doors
