Valeo cabin fan not working - no air / window demisting - Part No 5Q2819021B

Featured Replies

I have a 2015 Octavia vRS which has stopped blowing air at any setting.

I've just removed the fan and tested it while out of the mount. It ran ok and then stopped. I picked it up and it ran again. At lower settings, it seemed to be stuttering rather than spinning smoothly.

I'm assuming that the motor is probably on its way out, rather than this being a resistor issue? Do I replace both?

There isn't a resistor, the lower speeds are achieved by the HVAC controller sending a PWM signal to the motor rather than a continuous 12V.

It's described as a resistor.

An "electronic" resistor???

Same issue happened to me on my 2015 vrs, replaced the fan and it worked for a week or so and now the issue is back

That's not what I want to hear! 😞

With the fan out, and a bit more time, it won't run in the correct orientation (as fitted), but runs happily at 90° or inverted. Strange behaviour!
