fabia 1.4 16v x reg

the engine management light came on this morning,i stopped to check all the levels and they were ok.it did drive and sound ok.

on the return trip i felt the power steering was a little heavy.opened up the bonnet to check the level of the powersteering fluid but can't remove the green cap, which way are you meant too turn in it ??

thanks

ps when i opened the bonnet i saw a few drops of water in the bottom left hand corner, could this be the cause of the problem ?

you turn the cap anti clockwise just loke opening a bottle would be interesting to see if you get any replys my power steering feels heavy to but i cant figure out the problem

Fault code checks on both cars will lead to a better idea.

will it need to go to a skoda garage for a fault code and if so will they charge just to do this?

Depends if you know anyone local who has VAG-COM and I would expect a small charge.

Yes. Have a look in the Diagnostics & VAG-COM forum here and Ross-Tech's site here.

the fault is the egr valve.they cleaned the connectors and reset the computer .they ran the engine for 10 mins and it was fine.the egr valve was replaced under 12 mnths ago under warrenty.

would it still be guaranted(sp) the sensor ?

ps the window is fine now cost
