Mk3 headlight issues

Featured Replies

Hi, evening folks

So I had a warning for the passenger side dipped bulb. So get a new bulb, seem it’s something else is happening,as the new bulb also is having the issue, and on further checking the full beam works on both bulbs, possibly the No.1 fuse. But also I cat for the life of me get the bulb seated back into the holder, I get a feeing that maybe something has fell off the internal part. Attached picture P

Any help appreciated

Which headlamp system have you got?

Two x H4 twin filament bulbs or

Four x H7 single filament bulbs.

Headlight bulbs are normally fused individually.

Have you got the silver ring still?

Hi thanks for the reply

So I have the bulb, it’s the H7,there’s a silver clip that sits on the plug. So the plug sits on top

Of that. Just doesnt feel like it can twist around and sit in the hole in the photo.

Is fuse one for that? The fuse diagram isn’t entirely clear

The ears on the silver clip fit behind the two torx screws at 9 & 3 O Clock in your photo above.

Flat end first. Tab needs to be pointing in the right direction.

Compare to the other side!

They are renowned for being tight.

If you were in the engine bay it is turn clockwise to locate.

Full / main beam are the inner two bulbs with dipped beam being the outer two bulbs.

HTH.
