2000 mile update.

Featured Replies

So our 1.5 Monte Carlo Edition has nearly done 2000 miles and it's been interesting.. We have had random warnings about various systems on the car I have lost count, the rear discs are badly worn or not bedded in, the gearbox behaves oddly some days and not others, we are getting a drone from somewhere when doing 50 to 60 mph.

So it's been in to the local dealer and diagnostics say the 12v battery is faulty and the rear discs need replacement, both under warranty. They have flashed the gearbox to the latest version and done a reset. They think the drone is possibly just tyre noise as they can't find anything worn or broken. So it's going back in a couple of weeks for the bits to be done and we will see.

There is another issue but I suspect it is just the car. The handling is great on smooth roads but out in the Fens where we live the roads are anything but smooth. The car pitches about and the back end lifts and bounces around, putting it in sport is just another level of pain. I know it's lighter than my Kodiaq and my Octavia Vrs and the rear suspension isn't independent but it's just a bit of a disappointment. It's running on Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 XL standard tyres which I have had on both previous cars without issues.

Anyone got any tips to improve the ride quality or cabin drone?
