broken windscreen(front window)

Featured Replies

hello guys

i have just two days ago find out that my front window is broken on the left bottom side, like 40cm.i dont know if it happened from a stone or from deforming the body of the car.also i have front strut brace, but could it be possible tha from taking the curves fast can i deform the body, and thats why can the window break from any reason.or can it be from big heat or what esle?please tell me what do you think.

I would think its due to a stone. Any windscreen company could tell you for sure.

BTW WRC rally cars use standard windscreens if I remember correctly and they are pretty rigid. I doubt a road car would give that much problems.

could be from body flex , but would take some flex to crack it , although i've seen quite a few Ford KAs with cracked screens through flex , and recently a new Focus , so its not impossible

Having thought about it though rally cars would flex less due to being stiff so my previous statement is really a bit wrong.

However Ive not seen a Fabia do it as yet. Seen a mates Racing Puma crack the bulkhead from the extra loading due to the wider suspension etc, not good.
