Evap pipe issue

Featured Replies

Hi.

2019 1.5 Tsi FWD on 60k miles.

The car developed a sudden onset rattle 3 days ago - only occuring under load especially when pulling away or on a hill. No other performance loss or mpg change.

As it was booked in for an unrelated warranty issue today I asked the dealers to investigate the noise.

They contacted me to say that during their pre-work inspection they found the Evap pipe is split so were unable to progress to diagnosing the noise until resolved (this repair is also covered by the All-In warranty).

My question is - wouldnt an Evap split have resulted in an EML? I havent noticed any smells or fuel puddles.

Also..As Im not particulary knowledgeable re Kodiaq Evap system, my other question is- as its a pressurized system would fuel delivery be affected to the extent that its caused the rattle?

Thanks everyone.
