New install coming along

Featured Replies

Took me all of yesterday just to get the headunit in. Why do car manufacturers put so little room behind the stereo.

In to date

Pioneer 17cm components up front.

Nakamichi CD-45z single cd player (bitch to get in with 3 x pre-outs & 2 aux ins plus changer plug and loom).

Speaker cables installed up to rear seats.

3 x RCA cables installed up to rear seats (front and sub + aux if needed later or rear).

Alpine Type R 12" sub (2 x 4 ohm set as 2 ohm)

2 x JL audio e series amps. 2 channel for fronts and mono block class D for sub.

Power cable to go in tomorrow and some pics

Nice.

Didn't realise people still bought Nakamichi. They used to be excellent, are they still the "daddy"?

Had the stereo for a while know but still the daddy. Just looks more standard than the standard stereo :( Even makes the standard speakers sound ok

Nakamichi. Very nice. I didn't know they did ICE. I used to drool over their (home) audio.

Flash bugger

thought yours was the single din HU that held 6 x CD's Paul !?

anyway i knew it wouldnt be long before you started filling the skod with ice.

suppose theres a screen in there somewhere too huh ?

at least i'll know where to come when i start mine :hat:

Well it's all in and sounds quality. Headunit is single disk (the 6 disk version would not go in the octavia as most of the internal parts are in a seperate box due to the changer mechanisam being so big and there is no room for it).

Will get some pics tomorrow as only just got in from last nights/today's new years party and need sleep :sleep::sleep::sleep:

Total cost with out headunit

hmmm, i'm guessing you paid a visit to yor mate at the Ice House then huh ?

did like the sound of the system though, even in its "un tuned" mode.

Which components were they in the front (model?)..

i was thinking of changing the amp i'm running the Kicker sub in the 19 for when i get the vRS but i'm not sure now. i think it will be enough for the sort of sound i want (more quality than bass)...

Or, do you think i could run a sub off the same amp as a set of components ? then using the HU to run the rear speakers, which i'll more than likely leave standard.
