Dont forget that any 'mod' like this requires a photo or two!!!:D

What bulbs are you going to furish the lenses with?

Doesnt actually state if they are suitable for driving on the left though on that listing.

as they are selling them in the UK you would expect them to say if they are only suitable for using abroad.

there are notes in the sellars feedback that the lights supplied are lhd and not uk spec.

better to check before you buy.

Beginning to think ive bought non UK speck lights here.

As usual ive done things the wrong way round and bought the product before looking into the seller.

he has had negative feedback before due to selling non UK speck lights.

if these are non UK speck hpoefully i will get my money back with no probs.

:D With all the overtaking you do. Youll be on the right anyway!!

Do you think they could be adjusted by a dealer? In the same way that UK spec lights can be adjusted when travelling abroad?

there must be something you can do to adjust them. hope so...looks like im going to be stuck with these.

the seller wont reply to my messages and i have a feeling he is going to accept the payment and send them anyway!

lol you got owned :(

What????

When lights are adjusted it doesnt swap them over, all it does it knock off the high part of the beam so they dont blind oncoming drivers. However this isnt actually 'legal' and wouldnt pass an MOT with them like it.

I thought these wouldnt be for left hand traffic as the UK is very much in the minority by driving on the left and these kinda parts often dont get made for our market.

He hasnt broken any ebay rules so it may well look like your stuck with some unsuitable lights.

Why won't it pass the MOT though, does the light have to cover that 'triangle area' that gets knocked out by adjusting them?

(just wondering, I dunno what the exact rules are?).

I would have thought the main thing is that you don't blind others and that the lights are at the right height for where there is light?

If it isn't legal, what does that mean for people that drive continental cars in the UK on UK plates (as they've had to register it after however long it is) with headlight converters? They'd have to pass the MOT in the UK surely?

It's a real shame though as those lights do look very nice :(

by the looks of his feedback there could be a lot of people out there driving around with non UK speck head lights unaware of any problem.

surely he is breaking some rules somewhere?

i have just recieved this email from the seller

Hi there,

I can not confirm if the Headlights are for LHD, RHD or BOTH, but I sold many

of them to buyers in the UK, till now any are fine without a problem. However,

in same cases LHD projector headlight set-ups I have encountered in the past are

easily converted to RHD by undoing the screws & simply turning the light units

in their housings to the prescribed position. I hope it will help. Thank you!

is this true?

sell em on using ebay.de

If you want to use a foreign car in the UK for an extended period you must fit UK lights, the beam pattern on a beam tester kicks up at the left hand side (kerb) if it doesnt then then it wont pass. Much the same with converters, if they mask the pattern its a fail.
