Rear Speakers all Borked !

Featured Replies

The kids started complaining the other day (nothing new there then) that they couldn't hear the radio in the back.

After having a play with the fader, turns out that none of the rear speakers are working.

Also my CD changer has eaten 6 CD and won't give them back, and even the tape deck has swallowed an old tape and won't release it. (this was before the speakers died though)

Any idea what could be going on with the speakers ?

Also, what type of prongs do I need to remove the stereo, looked on fleabay, and there seem to be 2 kinds advertised for Skoda, one of which looks like an offensive weapon !

Thanks in advance.

Doh !, should add it's a 2001 Octy vRS with standard radio and cd changer !

You just need keys that look like hacksaw blades, like long and thin. The old style Kenwood ones work a treat. As for the changer eating CD's unplug and reconnect it and it should shuffle then eject then.

Rear speakers I would check the fader settings then make sure the wiring is intact, as a last thing I would lift them out and check the cone for movement. If it's sticking then it's time to bin them and fit some after market ones :)
