Just took std fronts to bits, thought i had a stone stuck, but found all 4 friction linings detatched from backing plates, std pads with around 5000 miles on them 6.5 mm lining left, i'll be writing to Skoda tomorrow. One lining had disintigrated and that was the noise problem. Disc is also knackered where lining self destructed.

they should replace those for free..

goes to show for batch quality. 42k miles on mine! & i'm just looking at replacing the lot. (uprating of couse). They ought to replace them but don't bet on it, brakes are seen as consumables and not covered as standard.

Skoda UK have them now, lets see what happens.
