TomTom GO 710

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if I can connect my TomTom GO 710 to my car stereo LineIn as

I have a 2006 Octavia II with the Stream CD HeadUnit.

Does not have the iPOD connector in the Armrest/GloveBox, and is not the Stream MP3

Not sure what the back of the radio looks like and don't want to remove it just to check.

If you have the same Stream unit as me then the short answer is no.

The back of the stereo has no RCA AUX connectors like you get with aftermarket units.

The Stream has a quadlock connector on it.

The only way you could get round this is to buy a CD autochanger emulator AUX adaptor. It fools the head unit into thinking it is playing from an autochanger when in reality it is paying from a pair of RCA connectors where you plug in SatNav/MP3/whatever you want.

The only downside is you lose the real CD autochanger in the process.

I am fitting the adaptor tomorrow, if you want pics let me know.

Cheers, sounds a little complicated to me...

Car has not done 500 miles yet and I am discussing pulling it apart already

Back to the dealer I think !

Noticed you have the estate - the briskoda.net sticker looks nice just under the 3rd brake light and cant be seen when looking through the rear view mirror

I'm sorting my sticker out this weekend, i've been meaning to do it for ages, mainly since August 2005

It took 11,000 miles before I got bored enough to take it to bits. To be honest the AUX adaptor is dead easy to fit and gives you 2 plugs to connect what you want to it.

But like I say, you lose the autochanger which i'm not bothered about as I lose 6 discs and gain 20GB via my Iriver.

Another thought: could you fudge the handsfree mute system to accomodate the input from the Tomtom?

If it's possible, you would keep your CD changer and have the sounds from the satnav in the same fashion as a handsfree.

As far as I know you need a Tom Tom car kit to be able to do what you want - they do not have a line out as standard you can use. I don't think Tom Tom have yet brought out the kit for the x10 range. They do one for the old x00 range, which you can see on Tom Tom's website, but is wont fit the new range
