1.4 16v hesitant

Featured Replies

hi back again!:) i posted a few weeks ago the my fabia was hesitant at pulling away from a standing start inless you gunned it, after reading the replies(many thanks) i added fuel injection cleaner, this has made a slight improvement but still not right, some body i know in the trade has susgested that it could be one of the coils breaking down, after some reserch i found that there are 4 of them and they are above the plugs what do you people think? skoda say nothing wrong when the car is on the computer.

p.s what is the view on a non dealer service the car has 1 year left on the warrenty

Good to hear back from you...

Sorry your still stumped. If could be coils, but I doubt it as that would manifest itself with things like lumpy idle and rough acceleration.

I think its just something to get used to.

I have often wondered if the petrol motors can be remapped to get rid of the annoying Euro emissions regulations - which make the car less responsive. Maybe that would help us 16 valve owners.

Hope you find your answer.

When the 16v first came out it was always the one i hated because of the delayed action electronic throttle pedal,8v's were more responsive and the diesels were always better.I think it is standard i'm afraid.

I've still got my 1.4 16v bought in 2000....she's always been hesitant.

P.

It's the same with my 2000 1.4 16v. There seems to a "stagger" in first gear unless you add lots of revs; but even then the revs delay.

Same thing here... it happens on first gear and sometimes on second gear if ur pulling a bit hard... i find it normal though... looks like its a common thing with all 1.4 16V's
