Brake-fluid-level-indicator, plus annoying warning sound while driving!

Featured Replies

Brake-fluid-level-indicator constantly on, plus totally annoying warning sound as soon as the car starts moving!

Suddenly this happened. Just went to the local Skoda garage where I got offered a time to repair in the middle of October!!!

They said this is the sound being made when the handbrake is on during driving, and most likely this is an electrical malfunctioning somewhere. Could be easy? Maybe it

Sounds like the switch has either broken or popped off on the handbrake lever to me.

have you checked the brake fluid level in the reservoir ? i think its the same warning lamp as for the handbrake up lamp

Yes I did. I filled in some to make sure...

I agree with Lummox, we do quite a few here, both on Fabia's and Golf's(same part) not particularly difficult but a bit fiddly.

Good news for me it seems. Can someone give a hint were to start? Where are the screws, and how many should I unscrew to get access.

Thank you people for fast answers.

the handbrake grip just pulls off up the metal lever , some peolple have complained on here of it pulling off to easy , so shouldn't be to difficult to remove on yours , iirc you should be able to access the switch/wiring then , i dont think you will have to remove the centre console , not sure though

Sounds good! I will try to pull it off with limited force then...
