1.2 Ambiente questions.

Featured Replies

Well I've finally collected my car (first car) from the dealer yesterday, but I've not sure whether some specifications are correct or missing. Firstly, on the latest model, they should be a chrome pack (gearknob and door handles). However the gearknob was the original, dark grey colour. I've shared my frustrations about this to the salesman, it seems like he didnt have much knowledge of the itself so it was like talking to a brickwall. Also, I cannot access the information display which is between the speedometer and the rev meter. I've tried using the rocker switch in every way but it doesnt seem to load up. Am I doing something wrong, please help.

Skoda's website shows the chrome doodads as being on the Elegance and not the ambiente.

You should have a trip computer , but I *think* it's under the speedo on the fabia and not in the centre - could be wrong though

nope its in the rev counter, the centre large panel just as warning lights unless you have sat nav and maxidot. hth

:iagree:

I didn't think the abient had chrome pack as standard - although it will have a trip computer, and as said, its in the rev counter. The middle display is warning lights only unless you have sat nav. ;)

i picked up my new 1.2 ambiente last friday,it came with chrome door push down buttons.

the door handles should be same colour has the rest of the car.my gearknob isn't chrome either.my information display is working (avergage mpg.mpg.miles done etc).

me again.just noticed the handbrake button is chrome, the gear **** is like the one in the 1.2 sport (painted silver).

am i entitled for the gear **** to be changed cos the salesman said he will contact me to sort this out. Nice drive though i have to say, even in the pouring rain this morning

i've taken the photo from the June fabia brouchure which i got in the post from skoda.this was out of date when i went to the showroom 2 weeks ago to order my car.

its the gear in the top middle of the picture.in the brochure it's called 'new gearshift'.(its on the 1.2 sport page)

yes thanks jamestay, just wanted somebody to confirm this. The specifications on the brochure arent always as they say and what u get. Should it be a minor job for the dealer to change this? As having the new gearknob would be a nice touch to have rather than the plain one. Still waiting for the phonecall about this matter, am i fully entitled to this on this matter or am I being too picky?

i've had a courtesy car from dm keith today.a i.2 ambiente on a '56' plate, this car had no chrome either.i aslo noticed when i took the keys out of the ignition with the lights on there was a long beeping sound.

my car has an entirely diffrent sound (like bleep....bleep....bleep...) !!

i think you car was made months ago but registered for '56' !!

Well certainly it doesnt fit exactly all the specification and the latest model should be build 22- 29 may 06, which i consider is about 5 months ago. When i collected it, it read 18 miles, but as i inspected the bonnet at home, much of it was dusty. Are the dealers allowed to do this, giving me an older model?

yes, got a reply from the dealer saying that they will sort it out and change the gear stick. The "new gearstick" u mentioned b4, i thought it was for the sport model?
