Anyone got a rear stealth shelf for octy

Featured Replies

As title states, anyone know where i can get one from and price, i remember cutting the shelf before to fit some 6x9's and the stupid reinforced metal bar that goes across the shelf was a nightmare to cut through, thanks for your help

Get some 12mm MDF, some 1"ish square tiber bars to brace it and some bolts to the correct size to mount it.

Then get busy with your jigsaw and router, install the speakers and cover it all with cloth.

Seriously though, I have no idea where you can buy them from, but making one would be very cheap. Careful about the insurance implications of using non OEM parcel shelves and make sure you declare it.

I am aware of a case where the insurance didn't pay out for damage caused where a non oem shelf flew forward and cause injury to the occuapants of a car in an accident.

If you search the threads there is a link in one of them for a company that makes stealth shelves specifically for the Octy. IIRC the price was around about

out of interest why do you want a stealth shelf and 6x9's?

fit some decent components up front that give good mid range and if you want more bass then the boot is plenty bg enough to hide one in the corner.

ive got some infinity components coming for the front, and ive got some 6x9's which have come out of my old car, so to save buying some 13cm's for the rear i wanted to use the 6x9's but didnt want them on show due to where i live you see, but due to the price of the stealeth shelf i will probably buy some 13cm components and the put the tweeter in the rear door, i think this should sound ok, ive got a sub and amp going in at some point aswell

the rears have random speakers in them, 5x2 mids and tweeters in the doors or something else random.

this is the old shape octy we were talking about, they have 13cm, in the rear side shelves by the parcel shelf and tweeters in the rear doors,

i too am talking about the mk1 octavia, i have a mk1 4x4 estate parked on my drive and i am willing to wager any amount that it doesn't have 13cm round speakers in the rear.

i think your find it does, goe and have a look, ive replaced them in my old octavia on a 03, and thats the size they were :)

I dont know why if you fitting comps up front you would want to ruin the sound stage with some clumsy 6x9's.

A little rear fill is all you need as mentioned above.

Was it a Combi? If not then id wager they are different to Bengies.
