works in my ka, xantia and 306 gti ! still have them on a mates farm !!!!

then i would say there is a problem in the fabia mate, you need to check all the wiring at the back of the headunit that goes to the two ISO plugs for any obvious signs of tampering or any missing cables.

the only ones that are essential to make it come on are the red, yellow and black which are live, switch live and earth. the earth should be in the corner with one live above it and the other either next to it or one pin over i can't remember.

also whats a m.o.s. player?

m.o.s ministry of sound ! so should i connect the red to the black and black to the red and leave the yellow alone ?

no, its the yellow and red that sometimes need reversing the black is always the earth.

I have fitted a M.O.S. cd player to a MK4 Golf Gti befor and I had to swap the ignition and battery wires around be cause the radio was constantly on, hope this helps

the lives swapped over wouldn't stop the unit powering up when the ignition is turned on though as it wouldn't know the difference, the only difference it would make is to storing radio stations and settings.
