Hi everybody, great to finally find a good Skoda community.

I have recently exchanged my `01 Fabia Estate for a brand new one. When I purchased the new car, I had it fitting with the rear speakers, and I set money aside for a decent HU.

I was told by the dealer, that Skoda was working on a new version of the Symphony radio with MP3 compatibility. So I have been waiting for that to be released - but as it turns out in vain. It looks like the dealer was pulling my leg: Skoda Denmark has informed me, that they are NOT working on a new Symphony for the Fabia!

Now I don't know what to do. I would really like a radio which looks good in the dash - but I don't think the Blaupunkt i came with fits the interior design very well. The Fabia HU slot is too high and convex to fit almost any DIN sized head unit. And this really matters to me.

I could just go and get the old Symphony, but my second issue is the MP3 compatibility, which is really important to me as well. Second of all I would like the radio to adjust the volume to the speed of the car (can I get this feature from anything but the Symphony?), but here I'm willing to compromise.

This is my question: Does anyone have recommendations on MP3 compabible head units which looks good in the Fabia dash? At least units in the same size as the slot, or maby with the same curved shape as the dash? I cannot be the first one to have this problem, let me hear your thoughts on the subject!

And: Am I the only one who have heard of a Fabia Symphony with MP3? Have I just been the victim of a selling ploy, or have Skoda dealers in Britain been saying the same thing?

I've recently got a Blaupunkt Woodstock DAB52 (DAB53 and 54 similar with more features) - this offers DAB digital radio plus AM/FM, conventional CD plus MP3 from CD. Also plays MP3 music from a SD or MMC memory card Lots of setup features including user configureable parametric equaliser to get the sound you like. So far I'm very pleased.
