Suspension?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Not posted in a long while, just goes to show how reliable this car is.... but still don't have anything to say profitable like you uber guys who know your stuff only a question.

I am no mechhead sorry.

....anyways, back to my problem.

Not long now for my Fabia TDi PD 100 bhp 2k reg to go through it's MOT and I need a little help if you don't mind.

Last January my mate (BIG guy) my brother (really BIG guy) and myself (Bigger) went and did a 700 mile fishing trip for a week. Had a great time and on the return a weird sqeeking noise came from the rear passenger side rear. Everytime I go over bumps etc I get a loud squeek, when it rains, funny enough it disappears. It squeeks but is getting worse like a metallic sound and a sqeek if you know what I mean.

Shocks on the way out?

If so are there any alternatives that can give just as good or even better suspension at a reasonable price? I have the comfort model if that helps and is fully serviced from new and had pads and discs all round last year.

Bare in mind the car has done 78k so had a good run.

Another thing is that I don't know wether it is time to get another Skoda!

This Fabia is the first Skoda I have ever had and has been the best car I have ever had.

The darkest winter, the hottest' of day's and the car springs to life everytime.

The power is sufficient (I have a motorbike when I feel the need) to be at the front most of the time and I adore the power band you get in 3rd. The car is mine to own and is fully serviced from new and has had the nasty cam belt change etc that cost a lot of money!!!

Wait a mo...the car is mine....no finance...never went wrong except for the steering sensor that was inevitable....AND still gave a 60mpg back with 3 heavy guys with luggage, fly fishing kit and waterproofs....erm...

I think I will be keeping the old girl for a few years yet:orb_bounc .

Any ideas chaps?

Your help in this matter will be greatly appreaciated.

Dale

ps sorry for the long post

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Eibach Pro-kit springs and dampers kit to replace the bouncy OEM suspension :D

Chris

My vRS has started making the same noise from the near side front and it only has 2000mls on the clock. It also suffers from the 'stutter' and the gear lever has started to rattle. Called the dealer today and they did return my call (during a driving lesson) and was unable to answer.
