Featured Replies

Afternoon,

just after some opinion's and advice,

i'm thinking of getting some Compo alloys in white, think tarmac spec rally car.

Crap idea???

The VRS is black, so i thought black and white might look OK.

Ta..

You need to request one of the photoshop boys to do a mock up, i'm the opposite with black wheels on my black vRS

I've been surfing around for wheels, but nothing really takes my fancy, apart from the white ones, i could always go for some OZ rims, i did think gold, but then thought that could be really crap if i didn't get the right wheels!!

One of the Swedish guys on here had some white OZ ones on his - looked good..... try a search.

I like the idea of rally-spec white wheels on the black vRS... lowered, of course. I think it's a great idea (pending pics).

I love the white alloys on black, it's what I'll be going for once I've saved my pennies. I was thinking the compo's probably look the best in white however the OZ's in the pics above do look quite nice, just too much work involved keeping them clean I'd think. I like chunky 5 spokes in white and have thought maybe the Audi TT competitions in white could look good.

I like the OZ ones in that pic, but I was thinking more like these:

Or maybe I'm just odd....

Those OZ WRC look great maybe time to paint th wheels since SWMBO took a chunk off one.:)

Those speedline alloys are the style i was thinkng. slam the car down so it looks full on rally spec.

I say, go for it!! It's something I would love to do on mine. These are the ones I like. Great thing is they're lightweight, so you should see better performance too!

I'm debating a set of 17'' MO's in white for mine, here's a quick chop:

(I think these rims are actually OZ Chronos, but you get the idea!!)

Eerrrm... just spoken to SWMBO who's had some rally experience. Those Speedlines that I found are magnesium (but still quite reasonable on the moolah front), but SWMBO said that magnesium alloys are A Bad Thing.

Everybody's done that thing at school where you set fire to a bit of magnesium, yes? Well, apparently that's what happens to magnesium wheels too. Only with more vigour. She's seen rally cars destroyed in minutes because the wheels caught light, and water doesn't put a magnesium fire out.

I just assumed that magnesium alloys had a special coating that stopped that sort of reaction, or that they were a magnesium alloy which wasn't flammable. Something to bear in mind I think...

I think the OZ multispokes woud look awesome in white on a black VRS
