fabia 1.4 brake servo

Featured Replies

I found the vacuum pipe had split, i ordered a new one from the agent.

I went to fit it, removed the old pipe, fitted the new one onto the engine side, all ok.

went to fit onto the brake servo, the "grommet" came out with the old one, next, went to fit the grommet back in, the worst happened. lost the grommet, it dropped inside the brake servo !!!!!!!!!!!!

cannot locate one from my local dealers, they say it is not a "parts" item.

please has anyone had the same experience or got any ideas ?

i have ordered the same size grommet from maplins, but it will not be exactly the same as the original in profile, from what i rember the original had a shouldered boss on it.

thankyou in advance

You dont want to leave that grommet in the servo, if that gets stuck behind the return spring your in all sorts of bother.

a bit of bent coat hanger wire maybe useful to see if you can fish it back out , thin nosed plyers might be helpful aswell , some messing about will save you the trouble of sourcing a new grommet
