Ring around some other dealers in your area and see how it compares. Considering a lube service costs 80 quid, I'm not sure how much the check should cost on top of that!

I dont think you want the pollen fillter, I think it should be changed every 20.000 miles or 2 years whichever comes first (well it is on my 2002 Polo) . I am not sure of the cash saving ( probably £20) for not being charged for this but I am sure someone will let you know.
